Dr. Lynn Fisher has joined the American Enterprise Institute [1] (AEI), a public policy think tank dedicated to defending human dignity, expanding human potential, and building a freer and safer world, as a resident scholar and Co-Director of the Housing Center. Steve Oliner, the Housing Center’s co-founder and co-director, will remain in a part-time capacity as Senior Advisor.
Dr. Fisher will focus on housing markets, including affordable housing, home building, mortgages, and housing finance.
Before joining AEI, Dr. Fisher was VP of research and economics and the Executive Director of the Research Institute for Housing America at the Mortgage Bankers Association. She was previously on the faculty of Washington State University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the University of North Carolina. At MIT, she was director of the Housing Affordability Initiative in the Center for Real Estate.
She has been published in several academic journals and holds three degrees from Pennsylvania State University: a Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in real estate finance, a Master of Science in business administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in international politics.
AEI will host a reception by their Center on Housing Markets and Finance to honor her addition to the AEI team, where guests will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Fisher and the rest of the Center's staff. The reception will be hosted at AEI’s rooftop reception venue in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, April 18 beginning at 5:30 pm.
