Radian Guaranty released data for primary mortgage insurance delinquencies for the month of February on Wednesday, reporting fewer loans are delinquent as of the end of the month.
The report noted that, "The information below regarding new delinquencies and cures is reported to Radian from loan servicers."
New insurance written for the month came in at $1.9 billion, with a beginning primary delinquent inventory of 58,782.
New delinquencies totaled 3,913, but were offset by 4,903 cures and 1,860 paids. Less the 41 rescissions and denials, the ending delinquency of inventory of loans was 55,891.
Radian commented that, “Default reporting, particularly on a monthly basis, may be affected by several factors, including the date on which the report is generated and transmitted to Radian, updated information submitted by servicers and by the timing of servicing transfers.”
