Influential Leader in Housing Shines Light on Servicing

MontgomeryThe 2014 Five Star Conference and Expo will feature an important industry event hosted by Brian Montgomery, former FHA commissioner and current chairman of the Collingwood Group, a Washington, D.C.-based mortgage lending business advisory firm.

"We are fortunate to have such a recognized national figure in housing lead this important and necessary discussion on the direction of the mortgage servicing industry," said Ed Delgado, president and CEO of the Five Star Institute.

Montgomery, who has over 25 years of private and public service with expertise in government policy reform with a concentration in housing, mortgages and the secondary market, will lead an industry discussion at the Servicers in Session: A Legislative Exchange event. Expected to be in attendance are representatives from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Bank of America, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

"At a time when many mortgage servicers are regaining their footing and direction to provide homeowners with premium service and solutions, the Servicers in Session event at the Five Star Conference continues to promote collaboration through dialog," Montgomery said.

In addition to current market conditions, servicers will discuss trending topics such as the economic impact of regulation, compliance complexity, economics of home ownership, and what the government's role is in restoring the housing market.

"I can think of no better opportunity to bring the industry together and have a strategic discussion focused on progress," Montgomery added.

Servicers in Session: A Legislative Exchange is a private meeting event for servicers, regulators, mortgage insurance companies, and government agencies scheduled on Tuesday, September 16, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Five Star Conference at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.  This event is closed to media coverage.
