NAREB Forum on Minority Housing Draws Congressional Support

Studies indicate the foreclosure crisis and its community-debilitating aftereffects are having a disproportionate impact on minorities and minority-owned real estate businesses. The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), the oldest African American trade group of real estate professionals in the country, has positioned itself alongside members of Congress, minority businesses, and granting agencies like the Salvation Army to face this challenge head-on. Violence Against Real Estate Pros Prompts Trade Group to Take Action

The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) has reached an agreement with Agent Alarm LLC, a national security company, that aims to address and curb the recent wave of attacks and acts of violence against real estate professionals in America. One of the most serious attacks in 2011 resulted in the death of Vivian Martin, a local real estate agent living and working in Youngstown, Ohio. Martin was beaten to death by three men in an abandoned home who were posing as potential buyers looking to purchase a home she had listed.

NAREB to Combine Efforts with FGMC for New Program

First Guaranty Mortgage Corp. will join forces with the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) to participate in the newly introduced, nationwide effort called the Homeowner's Assurance Program (HAP). HAP was created by NAREB, a trade group formed in 1947 by African American real estate professionals, to help re-stabilize urban communities impacted by the housing market crises.

Housing Fix: Minority Group Unveils $1.2 Billion Industry-Led Program

The National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (NAREB) announced the launch of a 25-city, $1.2 billion REO and foreclosure mitigation initiative called the Homeowner's Assurance Program (HAP). NAREB, through is network of industry professionals, will provide the agent infrastructure to manage, market, and dispose of nonperforming loans and REO assets acquired under the program. Targeted buyers include first-time homebuyers and others who are caught in the credit crunch and having trouble purchasing a home.

NAREB Forms Strategic Partnerships to Serve Minority Communities

The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), a Washington, D.C.-based trade association composed of minority professionals in the real estate industry, has formed strategic partnerships with PartnerFirst, LLC, and Integrated Mortgage Solutions (IMS). NAREB teamed up with PartnerFirst to create a certified, nationwide, and multicultural short sale agent network that it says will help minority communities across America avoid foreclosure. And the association joined forces with IMS to engage minority business as subcontractors.
