Controversial Foreclosure Prevention Bill Passes House

Despite threats of a presidential veto, the U.S. House of Representatives passed The Neighborhood Stabilization Act (H.R. 5818) on Thursday. The bill, introduced by U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) aims to clear up urban blight by providing $15 billion in federal grant funding to help local and state governments clean up and restore neighborhoods impacted by foreclosures.

San Diego Real Estate Slow Down Saga Continues

California’s San Diego County will be dealing with a real estate slow down for at least another two years, according to a new report from the UCLA Anderson Forecast. Our forecast for the next two years looks for real estate weakness to gain the upper hand in the next two quarters, leading to small losses in non-farm payroll employment, a modest spate of increased unemployment, and very weak growth in incomes and local output, said Ryan Ratcliff and Alan Gin, both authors of the report.
