Mr. Cooper’s New Chief People & Comms Officer

Kelly Ann DohertyDallas-based Mr. Cooper [1] has announced the promotion of Kelly Ann Doherty to EVP and Chief People and Communications Officer, a newly created position in the company. In her new role, Doherty will continue to lead corporate communications and take on the responsibility of leading the people organization of the company. Mr. Cooper said that it believes by combining HR and Corporate Communications functions under one leader, it can accomplish even more for team members.

“Our Human Resources team has helped to create a better team member experience through enhanced benefits, new trainings and career development, while our Corporate Communications team has encouraged team member engagement through better, more transparent communication efforts,” said Jay Bray, Chairman and CEO of Mr. Cooper Group Inc. “We believe by combining the HR and Corporate Communications functions under one leader, we can accomplish even more for our team members.”

Doherty most recently served as Chief Communications Officer for the Mr. Cooper Group, a role she assumed in August 2018. Prior to joining Nationstar in 2016 as the SVP of Corporate Communications, Doherty was VP of Corporate Communications at Elevate, a financial technology firm. She also served as a public relations and affairs consultant for four years and as a strategic communication staffer for a Presidential campaign and within President George W. Bush’s administration with a tour at the White House in Presidential Personnel and N.A.S.A. as a political appointee.
