TD Bank Appoints Rick Bechtel and Scott Lindner

TDbankToronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank) has appointed two senior executives, Rick Bechtel and Scott Lindner as it looks to expand in the mortgage market. In a release, the bank said that Bechtel and Lindner bring established mortgage industry experience and key senior leadership to TD, as the bank aims to drive growth, hire new talent and expand its suite of lending offerings.

Rick Bechtel, who has been appointed as Executive VP by the New Jersey headquartered bank will head the bank’s U.S. mortgage business, while Scott Lindner will head the bank’s sales as National Sales Director.

Bechtel has more than 27 years of banking and management experience, most recently serving as managing director, head of mortgage banking, at CIBC. He also built and led successful sales teams at Wells Fargo and Chase. In his new role, Bechtel will oversee all aspects of the lending business and will be responsible for driving growth and optimizing mortgage industry technology, while maintaining the bank’s risk appetite and unique focus on the customer.

Lindner has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and most recently served as SVP, Head of retail banking, at Scottrade. Previously, he managed over 100 retail bank branches for The Bank of New York and was responsible for JPMorgan Chase’s mortgage origination business in Connecticut and New York state north of New York City.

At TD Bank, Lindner will work to grow the business through a combination of sales-force expansion and integration with the retail bank.
