Two attorneys from Chicago-based default services firm Kluever & Platt [1], LLC, were recently recognized in Super Lawyers Magazine’s 2016 list of Rising Stars for Illinois.

M. Reas Bowman and Blake A. Strautins, a partner and a senior associate at the firm, respectively, were both named Rising Stars for Illinois by the magazine for their continued success as litigators in the Creditor Debtor Rights space.

Bowman received his J.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology—Chicago—Kent College of Law in 2005. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and commercial foreclosures. At Kluever & Platt, Bowman has represented clients in such litigation matters as contested mortgage foreclosures, mechanics lien foreclosures, disputes involving construction contracts, notes, guaranties, employment agreements, and commercial leases. Bowman also litigates appeals throughout the state of Illinois.

Strautins received his J.D. degree from the DePaul University College of Law in 2007. His focus and experience includes Fair Credit Reporting Act violations, consumer fraud, antitrust, breach of contract, breach of warranty, and unjust enrichment spanning cases in appellate, federal, and state courts across the country. Prior to joining Kluever & Platt, Strautins developed substantial expertise in complex class action litigation.

No more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in Illinois are named to Super Lawyers Magazine’s Rising Stars list; this is the second year that both Bowman and Strautins have been recognized as Rising Stars in the magazine. In order to be recognized as a Rising Star, candidates must be either 40 years old or younger or be in practice for 10 years or less. In order to receive consideration, candidates must go through a nomination process that includes research of each candidate and peer evaluation.
