Carrington: Delivering the Real Estate Goods

DS News Sponsored Post

In the real estate industry, there are companies with a single structure that struggle to provide best-in-class service to their clients; and then there are companies that are in a better position to support clients because of a broad range of services, wide coverage area and robust infrastructure that provides the ability to better meet needs of a diverse client base.

Carrington Real Estate Group (CREG) has found its way into the latter category. While offering the full spectrum of real estate services, CREG has proven itself large enough to offer nationwide coverage, but at the same time provide boots-on-the-ground expertise at the local level. CREG has been listing, managing and selling institutional residential properties since 2008. The company provides nationwide coverage with the goal of being a “one-stop shop” for its clients. The company’s capabilities include:

» Carrington Title Services and Carrington Escrow Services – Operations located in Texas and California provide title, escrow and settlement services with specific expertise in purchase, refinance, real estate owned (REO), bulk and short sale transactions. Working with both institutions and the local real estate community, the companies also offer various title search products, curative services and CA natural hazard disclosure product (NHD). The strength of the organization lies in its ability to offer clients a broad array of services and solutions on a national scale helping clients to achieve their specific real estate goals.

» Carrington Real Estate Services – Full service real estate brokerage with 2,000+ licensed agents in 23 states with proven track record in retail sales, investment properties, rentals, distressed properties and short sales. In addition, Carrington Real Estate Services was ranked in the top 40 of all brokerages across the country by Real Trends.

» Carrington Home Solutions (CHS) – Offers a full spectrum of services to lenders, servicers and asset managers across the nation, including inspection, property preservation, monthly maintenance and capital repairs. Support also extends to institutional clients, private real estate investors and real estate agents. With a nationwide network of experienced professionals who have been vetted to ensure they match Carrington’s stringent quality requirements, CHS provides prompt, responsive, reliable and high-quality services to assist you in your real estate goals.

» Carrington Property Services (CPS) – Provider of both asset and property management. As an industry leading REO asset manager, CPS manages both standard and reverse mortgage properties with a nationwide footprint. As a property manager, CPS has over 8 years of experience providing management of occupied REO and SFR investment rental properties. CPS is also an experienced diligence and valuation services provider with national coverage.

“You can pick up the phone and call one person to handle all of your needs,” Kevin Cloyd, President, CREG said. “Our services are vertically integrated. We are strong as a team and individually, which allows us to add more value for our customers.”

“All of the leaders of the CREG companies report up to one individual who sets vision and goals for the companies individually and collectively. We all work together for the overall Carrington continuum of companies—not just our own individual business. Same mindset, same goals under the same leadership makes a big difference,” said Renee Deane, EVP CREG Operations.

“Our services are vertically integrated. We are stronger as a team than we are individually which allows us to add more value for our customers.”

The CREG continuum of companies applies an institutional approach to quality and compliance. “In addition to benefitting our clients, it’s in our best interest to make sure that we are doing things the right way, and that everyone is protected,” said Kevin Cloyd. “Because of the range of services that we provide, we are highly regulated by many different agencies. We implement best practices and apply them across all our companies whether it’s required or not. It is a core philosophy for Carrington so that we can comply with existing regulations and prepare for what may be coming in the future. Our multi-industry experience is a significant advantage for our clients because they have a partnership with a large, institutionally-minded organization that is focused on protecting the consumer, the clients and the assets under management as well as a keen focus on operational and financial performance. “

The ratings agencies have taken notice of Carrington’s work in the real estate space. Carrington Property Services received a top ranking as both a residential vendor for REO asset management and a top-ranked residential vendor for single-family rental property management by Morningstar Credit Ratings and has received both of those honors for the past two years.

Carrington has built its brand over the years through managing relationships with the GSEs, as well as some of the nation’s largest financial institutions, asset managers, title underwriters and the real estate community.

Diversification remains the key to surviving in the constantly-changing real estate industry; many companies that focus on one single specialty area are struggling or have disappeared altogether. CREG expanded its services well before the nationwide REO inventory began its steep, steady decline. CREG’s full suite of real estate services has been offered for at least five years, with some of the services starting as early as 2008.

With that philosophy, CREG is positioned for the long term. They have already proven that a little diversification can go a long way.
