Attorney Joins Ohio Organization to Reduce Foreclosures

Bob Hoose, partner from the Law Offices of John D. Clunk [1], was sworn-in as a member of the Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association [2] (MBA) by President Susan Stevenson. As a newly sworn-in member of the Ohio MBA, Hoose "is committed to speed up the foreclosure process in the State of Ohio," the company said in a release.

Hoose believes that the process and timeframe to complete a foreclosure can be "excessive," increasing blight to neighboring communities. Foreclosures also impose high carrying costs, and thus decrease home values for servicers.

He plans to work with the Ohio MBA to pass legislation to reduce timeframes and fast track foreclosures in the state of Ohio. For the last year, Hoose and others have been working on Ohio House Bill 223.

The bill has currently passed the Ohio House and is moving towards a vote in the Senate. He believes, if passed, the bill should significantly reduce the timeframes for vacant homes, and drastically reduce the timeline from sale held to deed recorded in the state of Ohio.

Hoose graduated from The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and is licensed in Federal and State Courts of both Ohio and Florida.
