Nominations are now open for the annual 2023 Women in Housing Leadership Awards [1] (WIH), to be presented during the 20th annual Five Star Conference and Expo [2] at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, September 20 at 12:30 p.m. CT.
Five awards will be handed out to the industry’s most distinguished women leaders, including The Rising Star Executive Award, the Keys in Hand Award, and The Laurie G. Maggiano Legacy Award. This year's WIH will also include two new or revised categories, including the Diverse Ownership Award, which will spotlight a company rather than an individual, and the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, which can include nominations or either women executives or companies that are noteworthy in the manner noted in the descriptions below.
The Awards will be presented in person at the Women in Housing Leadership Awards luncheon, part of the 2023 Five Star Conference & Expo [3], from 12:00-1:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, September 20 at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas.

You may nominate a colleague (or company, if relevant) for up to two of the awards. Each of these awards will be presented to a deserving nominee, in each category as follows:
- The Rising Star Executive Award (Individual): This award recognizes young women leaders who, while still early in their careers, have demonstrated an outstanding capability to lead and drive progress. (Candidates must have up to 10 years' industry experience.)
- The Diverse Ownership Award (Company): This new award recognizes companies that are owned or led by diverse executives, and that work to empower and promote women in leadership positions.
- The Keys in Hand Award (Individual): This new award spotlights industry executives who are working to expand homeownership in America, especially for first-time homeowners, providing a critical source of intergenerational wealth.
- The Corporate Social Responsibility Award (Individual or Company): How is your organization giving back to the communities it serves? This award recognizes executives or companies who are driving charitable initiatives and helping the industry make a positive difference.
- The Laurie A. Maggiano Legacy Award (Individual): This award recognizes women whose accomplishments have left an indelible impact on the industry and have positively influenced homeownership within the past year. (Candidates for this award must have a minimum 20 years' consecutive industry experience).
The nomination criteria are as follows:
- Individuals can be nominated in a maximum of two categories.
- All required fields must be completed in order to submit your nomination.
- A colleague or business associate must submit nominations. Self-nominations are not accepted.
- Only one nomination per individual will be taken into account during the selection process. Multiple nominations will not increase a nominee’s chance of being selected.
- Nominees must be currently employed by an organization that directly serves the housing and/or mortgage industry.
- Nominees must meet the minimum experience requirement specific to the selected award(s). Years of industry service must be consecutive.
- Nominees must be present at the Women in Housing Awards Leadership Awards Banquet in Dallas this September in order to receive an award. If the nominee cannot attend, they may appoint a proxy to accept it on their behalf should they be the recipient in their category.
