[1]Pennsylvania-based law firm KML Law Group [2], a firm devoted to mortgage foreclosure, bankruptcy, ejectment, REO closing, and other real estate matters for secured real estate lenders, has announced that John F. Goryl, Esquire, has joined the firm as senior counsel as of October 1, 2014.
As senior counsel, Goryl will represent KML's clients in aCentral Pennsylvania while working out of the firm's Harrisburg office. He will be representing clients at hearings and sheriff's sales, serve as liaison with housing advocates and counseling agencies, oversee the title curative department, manage inquiries the firm receives from government units, and he will serve as the firm's expert on Pennsylvania's Homeowners Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (HEMAP [3]).
Goryl served as associate counsel for the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA [4]) prior to joining KML, providing legal advice and expertise on such issues as PHFA's Single Family Mortgage Program. He represented the Commonwealth before state agencies and Commonwealth Court with regards to legal challenges faced by HEMAP, and he was instrumental in drafting HEMAP regulations and Act 70 of 2012.
Goryl, who earned his Juris Doctor degree from Dickinson School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University, was recently honored on his retirement by the state of Pennsylvania for 26 years of distinguished service with PHFA.
