[1]Ohio-based Safeguard Properties [2], the nation's largest mortgage field services provider, has announced the promotion of two employees in its IT department. Amitha Rao has been promoted to VP for client systems and data analytics and Rick Moran has been promoted to the position of assistant VP of application architecture at Safeguard.
Amitha Rao has been with Safeguard since 2002 and has been instrumental in designing and managing the company's enterprise data warehouse system. She worked to develop solutions to critical problems in the mortgage industry by applying geospatial technologies toward analyzing the industry. In her current position with Safeguard, Rao will lead data architecture and governance for all systems and will work toward the goal of creating a consistent and reliable information management platform. Rao will help Safeguard identify opportunities for improvement by working with service lines to define key performance indicators.
Rao has a master's degree in physics and statistics. Prior to joining Safeguard, Rao was a principal consultant in Boston in the research and development, bioinformatics, and life sciences industries. Her projects she worked on included the Human Genome project.
Rick Moran, who has been with Safeguard since 2011, will be responsible for evolving the Safeguard IT systems and leading the design of the company's enterprise application architecture in his new position. This will include real-time integration with other systems, vendors, and clients as well as a roadmap for future system upgrades and standards that are designed to meet availability, security, performance, and goals.
In his three years at Safeguard, Moran has led the system upgrades supporting Safeguard's growth in addition to implementing several innovative services with the help of his team. Prior to his employment at Safeguard, Moran worked at Revol Wireless as director of enterprise architecture and he operated his own consulting firm, providing services to sectors such as manufacturing, telecommunications, and energy sectors.
