since 1999 after five years as an assistant state attorney with the Broward County State Attorney's Office. Mayersohn and her firm were named a Top Lawyer and Top Law Firm for 2011 by the _South Florida Legal Guide_.

""The firm will represent a paradigm shift in the Florida marketplace and beyond,"" Mayersohn said. ""My partners and I are pleased to announce the formation of this new venture as it represents a coming together of lawyers with their respective, individual unwavering commitments to the highest ethical and best practice standards.""

Mayersohn added, ""Each of us have been asked by our respective clients to expand our level of service throughout the recently battered Florida marketplace and beyond, so this was an opportune time to embark on this new venture with established partners.""

According to a statement from the firm, Gerner and May evaluated the possibility of entering the Florida marketplace for some time.

""The ability to move into Florida with the team that we have assembled along with Leah's respect in the Florida legal community, as well as her experience both as a prosecutor and in private practice for over a decade with a current default practice, allows us to clearly differentiate ourselves from other law firms from the outset,"" May said.
