of borrowers facing foreclosure, announced Thursday that ""Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta"":http://www.cccsatl.org/ (CCCS Atlanta), with 30 offices in four states, has agreed to join the more than 100 counseling agencies already committed to the Web portal.

""HOPE LoanPort is thrilled to have Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta on board. They have been a very active partner in HOPE NOW and we anticipate them being a driving force behind this new web portal,"" said Larry Gilmore, CEO of HOPE LoanPort. ""By adding them to our growing list of committed counseling organizations, we continue to expand our operation into more states where at-risk homeowners and housing counselors can benefit greatly from the technology""

All of CCCS Atlanta's housing counelors will benefit from HOPE LoanPort. By having the ability to send all loan modification documents electronically to a mortgage servicer, the organization will be able to track a homeowner's progress and better understand which homeowners qualify for loan modifications. In addition, the use of the portal will reduce repeat calls from homeowners checking on the status of their loan modification.

""Our research shows that approximately 70 percent of homeowners who receive foreclosure prevention counseling from our agency are unemployed or have experienced a reduction in income. To be considered for a loan modification, they need to know quickly if they qualify for a loan modification,"" said Suzanne Boas, president of CCCS Atlanta. ""HOPE LoanPort will speed up this process. Additionally, the new, automated process will benefit homeowners by giving them a single point of contact with their servicer.""

CCCS Atlanta is a full-service, nonprofit financial counseling agency based in Atlanta. Its counselors aim to help financially-distressed individuals move from crisis to control by providing compassionate service and innovative practical solutions. Counseling is provided 24 hours a day in all 50 states over the phone and internet and is also available in CCCS Atlanta’s 30 offices throughout Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
