The two-day event begins Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.

Borrowers attending the event will meet with home retention team members to obtain loan modifications or pursue other foreclosure prevention options. Bilingual representatives are also available to assist borrowers.

""Wells Fargo is making every effort to keep people in their homes through the federal Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) and the company's own modification programs focused on mortgage payment relief,"" the company said in a statement promoting the event.

Ninety-two percent of Wells Fargo's mortgage customers remain current on loan payments, and the company's delinquency and foreclosure rates are three-fourths that of the industry.

Fewer than 2 percent of loans secured by owner-occupied homes and serviced by Wells Fargo proceeded to a foreclosure sale in the last 12 months.
