“The Foreclosure Workbook” provides information that helps homeowners understand the foreclosure process and what options may be available to help them prevent a foreclosure sale. Actual worksheets help consumers assess their financial situation and record information received when meeting with mortgage servicers. In addition, resources such as contact information for local housing counseling agencies and a warning about mortgage scams are included in the workbook.

“The quality of this book resides in its comprehensiveness,” said Cy Richardson, VP of housing and community development for the National Urban League. “It really is a step-by-step complete guide to educate and assist homeowners who may be facing foreclosure.”

The workbook was first published in 2009, in conjunction with _Leading the Way Home_, Wells Fargo’s multi-faceted initiative to stabilize housing, advance homeownership, and revitalize neighborhoods in cities hit hard by foreclosure.

Through several programs under the initiative, including home preservation workshops and local mortgage help centers, Wells Fargo has met with more than 57,000 of its customers face-to-face to work on their mortgage payment concerns.
