who along with Kerry McInerney co-chairs the firm's mortgage litigation group.

""The addition of the Florida office allows us to expand our mortgage litigation practice and complement our existing Alabama mortgage banking practice,"" Ramey added.

Ramey and McInerney lead a team of 22 attorneys who handle individual and class actions. They defend origination and servicing claims in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts premised on, among other things, alleged violations of the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and lack of ""standing.""

In response to client feedback, the law firm evaluated the legal market and opted for expansion.

""The fact that our clients encouraged us to open a Florida office reaffirms where we are as a firm and our optimism about the future of our mortgage litigation practice,"" said CEO John Cooper.

For the mortgage banking and real estate industries, Sirote & Permutt provides representation in the areas of foreclosure law, litigation, landlord and tenant law, and residential closings.
