JPMorgan to Hire Hundreds in Michigan and Ohio

""JPMorgan"":http://www.jpmorganchase.com/corporate/Home/home.htm announced it will hire as many as 175 full-time employees in its Cleveland, MI mortgage operation center and as many as 125 in its Columbus, OH center by year-end, thanks to a successful summer in its mortgage sector and a 2009 vow to create 1,200 jobs by December 2010.

The company reported a net income of nearly $5 billion for the second quarter of 2010, which was up from both Q1 2010 and Q2 2009.

The company provided nearly $700 billion in new and renewed credit to consumers, small businesses, non-profits, municipalities and corporations during the second quarter and has approved more than 245,000 loan modifications since the beginning of 2009.

According to ""Crain's Cleveland Business"":http://www.crainscleveland.com/, Chase announced in November of 2009 that it would create more than 1,000 jobs across the country by the end of 2010.

In addition to creating jobs, Chase has focused on alleviating foreclosure issues for its customers by hosting workshops across the country and opening Homeownership Centers to offer advice and counseling to homeowners in areas around the country that have high levels of mortgage delinquencies.
