The hotline for Tennessee residents is 855.876.7283 and offers free information and referrals to foreclosure prevention and mortgage counseling. HPF's HUD-approved counselors are available through the hotline from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Borrowers can also receive referrals to a local nonprofit counseling agency if they wish to meet a counselor in person at no cost.

""HPF is a well-respected, reliable nonprofit organization that we are confident will serve our people well on this vital initiative,"" said Cooper.

This heightened statewide effort by the Attorney General's Office to connect Tennessee homeowners with the housing counseling and financial assistance they need truly sets the bar for other states to emulate,"" added Colleen Hernandez, CEO and president of HPF.
