Moffett Returns to Freddie Mac as Finance Consultant

Following the apparent suicide of Freddie Mac's acting CFO David Kellermann on Wednesday, the GSE's former CEO David Moffett, who resigned from his post in March, has agreed to temporarily return to the company as a consultant to interim CEO John Koskinen.
In his role as a consultant, the company said Moffett will provide advice and assistance in directing the finance division and overseeing the issuance of the GSE's financial statements. Moffett has three decades of banking experience. He served as CFO and vice chairman at U.S. Bancorp until 2007, helping build the company from a regional Ohio bank just 15 years ago to now one of the nation's largest lending institutions.
Speaking about Moffett's temporary return, Koskinen said, ""I am grateful to David for offering to assist us during this challenging time. David is well positioned to advise me in my oversight of the finance function. He knows the company well from his time as chief executive, and has built an impressive career in finance and accounting leadership as an executive with other leading public companies.""
""Freddie Mac"":http://www.freddiemac.com said it will continue its search for a permanent CFO to lead the finance division.
