The timeline begins with March 19, 2009, when the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs held its first hearing on ""Modernizing Bank Supervision and Regulation.""
St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said, ""Our new regulatory reform timeline site provides a centralized location where the public can easily keep track of the proposals and debates occurring in Washington as Congress and the administration work to overhaul financial regulation. This timeline site, along with our 'Financial Crisis' timeline site, were designed to help increase transparency and accountability during these uncertain economic times.""
