The summit, which is approved by the ""Florida Association of Code Enforcement"":http://www.face-online.org for four hours of continuing education credit, will feature a half-day of presentations covering maintenance issues for properties in default and information about default mortgage servicing industry processes.

The South Florida Code Enforcement Summit was requested based on the success of a similar continuing education event sponsored by LPS Field Services and LPS Asset Management Solutions last November in Orlando.

""The Orlando Code Enforcement Summit was very informative, professionally directed and each presenter was knowledgeable in the field,"" said John Santafemia, a property/foreclosure specialist from Collier County, Florida.

LPS says the summit will help the company continue its efforts to educate the public sector about default servicing

and field services processes, as well as facilitate relationship building, thereby aiding community efforts to minimize code violations.

The summit agenda includes:

* Foreclosure Timelines and Government Guidelines
* Code Violation Processes and Property Preservation, Pre-Foreclosure
* The Life of an REO (Bank-owned) Property
* Code Violation Processes and REO Preservation, Post-Foreclosure
* Presentation on MERS, Inc. Program
* State of Florida Property Maintenance Legislation

LPS explained that the summit will give code enforcement professionals the opportunity to connect with field services professionals dedicated to working with them to quickly address code violations, vacant property, and other maintenance issues. There will also be a discussion about the legislative guidelines applicable to lenders and field services companies and an examination of the laws specific to Florida municipalities.

LPS says attendees will come away with a better understanding of the overall field services process, along with a summary of services performed by the field services industry and typical foreclosure preservation servicing timelines. Additionally, code enforcement attendees will be able to participate in an open dialogue with multiple field services companies invited by LPS.

The Florida Association of Code Enforcement requires that its certified code enforcement professionals attend 16 hours of continuing education courses every two years to remain certified. Many other state code enforcement associations have similar requirements. LPS plans to pursue continuing education course approvals for summits it plans to host in other states in the near future.

The ""South Florida Code Enforcement Summit"":http://www.fndfs.com/fs2/IndustryRelations/tabid/63/Default.aspx. is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale. Attendees must register by Friday, January 29.
