Bott joined HUD in September 2009, just as the administration was knee-deep in ramping up and rolling out a host of programs to address the nation's raging foreclosure crisis.

At HUD, Bott was responsible for the direction and management of all single-family Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage insurance programs, including the agency's roster of approved lenders, initiatives to minimize risk and losses associated with defaulted loans, and the disposition of repossessed homes.

HUD says Bott is ""leaving to spend more time with her family."" Her last day at HUD is June 24.

Bott has spent more than 20 years in the mortgage lending industry. She joined HUD from Wells Fargo, where she was VP for institutional risk management.
