RE/MAX Dominates Twin Cities Metro Market in 2009

Despite the static housing economy, ""RE/MAX"":http://www.remax.com/, a global real estate company based in Denver, earned No. 1 market share status in the Twin Cities 13-county metro for number of listings sold between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009.

This achievement is determined by combining the sold listings of all office locations and independent offices of each multi-office or franchise organization in which listing were sold, according to data maintained by the local board or regional multiple listings service (MLS) for the 13-county Twin Cities metro.

Coming in first over No. 2 ""Edina Realty"":http://www.edinarealty.com/ and No. 3 ""Coldwell Banker Burnet"":http://www.cbburnet.com/, RE/MAX said this designation has been years in the making. In a market share trends report for

listings sold from year-end 1995 through December 31, 2009, RE/MAX increased in market share for 11 of the 15 years, marking an overall increase of 90.6 percent. Meanwhile, its competitors saw a decline in market share.

In addition to earning No. 1 market share in the Twin Cities 13-county metro, RE/MAX agents proved to be the most productive agents in the metro for 2009, the company said. The sales association productivity report shows the average, active RE/MAX agent closed 14.83 transactions between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009. This average was notably higher than that of its competitors, according to data from the regional MLS on active agents of companies with 100 or more agents.

""It shows that RE/MAX agents and brokers have been able to adapt to the changes in the market faster and more effectively than our competitors,"" Greg Cecchettini, director of franchise development for RE/MAX North Central, said of the accomplishment.

Currently, RE/MAX has more than 1,300 active associations and 91 operating offices in Minnesota with No. 1 market share status in 144 cities, an increase of 30 markets since 2008. Affiliated with RE/MAX International, RE/MAX North Central provides residential and commercial real estate, relocation, and referral services. Since its inception in 1985, it has grown to nearly 200 offices and more than 2,100 sales associates throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.
