Long & Foster Office Recognized by Maryland for Sales Milestone

The Bethesda/Gateway office of ""Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.,"":http://www.LongandFoster.com in Bethesda, Maryland, was recently presented with a proclamation from Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot in recognition of the sales office surpassing $1 billion in settled real estate sales for 2012.

Long & Foster is an independent residential real estate company representing more than 12,000 agents in seven Mid-Atlantic states and the District of Columbia. For the last 20 years, the Bethesda/Gateway location has been its top performing office.

The company says its Bethesda/Gateway office is consistently the No. 1 office in sales volume among all residential real estate brokerage firms in Montgomery County, Maryland; Washington, D.C.; and Northern Virginia. The Bethesda/Gateway office is also ranked among the top-producing real estate offices in the United States.

Franchot, the third highest ranking elected official in Maryland, presented the proclamation on behalf of the state during a ceremony held at the Bethesda/Gateway office. ""I am pleased

to recognize the leadership of Long & Foster in the region's real estate recovery and for the economic activity and critical revenues the organization generates for our state,"" Franchot commented.

Also attending the ceremony were Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate; Paul Foster, SVP and regional manager of Long & Foster's Washington, D.C.; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Southern Maryland regions; Leon Nasar, senior branch manager of the Bethesda/Gateway office; and Bonnie Casper, president of the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors and a top-performing Long & Foster agent.

Casper acknowledged Long & Foster's ""investment in and commitment to its agents"" for fostering such an achievement. Long & Foster's Bethesda/Gateway office has more than 200 affiliated sales associates who serve the metropolitan Washington, D.C., and surrounding Maryland communities. This is the eighth year out of the past 10 years that the Bethesda/Gateway office has surpassed the $1 billion milestone in settled volume.
