""If title agencies use SoftPro, they can now enjoy direct access to Stewart policies previously accessible only through STEPS, Stewart Title Electronic Policy System, allowing new levels of productivity when producing title policies,"" said George Houghton, EVP of the agency services group for STGC. ""The Stewart Agency Technology enables SoftPro users to increase efficiency, automate various parts of workflow, and better manage forms.""

Joyce Weiland, president of LPS SoftPro, said LPS has worked closely with Stewart to develop the STEPS for SoftPro integration designed specifically for Stewart agencies. She said Stewart agencies using SoftPro have a unique opportunity to benefit from the many advantages that the STEPS technology has to offer.

Stewart said this integrated application will help agencies work smarter by accessing Stewart policies directly from the desktop. According to the company, title agencies will have the ability to manage multiple policies within a single file through one screen, and all policy issuance information will be centrally maintained.

In addition, Stewart said the application will decrease workload by automating tasks. Policy numbers will be automatically updated within a SoftPro file, underwriter remittance will be automatically calculated, and policies will automatically be sent to the proper policy reporting system, the company explained.

Finally, Stewart said, this new application will simplify forms management. The company said agencies will be able to access underwriter policy forms directly from SoftPro, giving them the ability to void policies from within the title production system. Additionally, agencies will be able to edit and review each policy prior to assignment of policy number, and they will be able to archive policies as PDFs and easily reprint forms, Stewart said.
