[IMAGE]The portal, called ""Homeowner Connect"":https://www.homeownerconnect.org//, is designed to standardize the entire communication life-cycle of loss mitigation activities between servicers and borrowers. Homeowners struggling with their mortgages will have the ability to connect with free resources, including options for government or industry programs, from any computer with Internet access.
Additionally, GMAC Mortgage customers will be able to securely apply for foreclosure alternatives through Homeowner Connect.
Homeowner Connect was created in response to the national mortgage settlement, which called for a consumer-centric web portal. The site also aligns with requirements in the OCC's Consent Orders, the joint-GSE Servicing Alignment Initiative, and many new state policies.
