Three new appointees and three return to the committee that advises HUD on manufactured housing production, regulations, and administration of the Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Act.

To assist victims in federal disaster areas, HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge has allocated funds to help communities recover and build resilience after a series of natural disasters in early 2023.

During a recent House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy meeting, Greg Coleman of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency noted that “the OCC’s role is to ensure that national banks and federal savings associations understand their climate-related financial risks and develop comprehensive risk management frameworks and capabilities to identify, measure, monitor and control those risks.”

The Biden Administration, along with HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge, is calling attention to the significant harm that rental housing junk fees cause to tenants and have outlined steps that the Administration is taking to curb these fees. 

The Department has published a Request for Information asking the public how it can simplify programs and reduce burdens to increase access to its programs.

At the close of Q1 2023, Homeowner Assistance Fund programs made roughly $3.7 billion in payments to more than 318,000 homeowners at risk of foreclosure–a 50% increase over Q4 2022.
