Housing Alliance to Continue Borrower Outreach Events in Midwest

Aside from the event scheduled for Chicago on May 27, HOPE NOW has announced borrower outreach events for St. Louis (June 13) and Cleveland (July 11) as part of an effort to focus on the Midwest. HOPE NOW said it plans to host events later in the year in Ft. Lauderdale, Hartford, Memphis, and Los Angeles.

Foreclosure Completions Plummet Year-Over-Year While Starts Increase

Completed foreclosure sales totaled approximately 96,000 for Q1 2015, down from 126,000 in the same quarter a year earlier, according to HOPE NOW – a decline of approximately 24 percent. Foreclosure starts jumped by 3 percent year-over-year in Q1 (from 219,000 up to 225,000) and about 10 percent quarter-over-quarter (from 205,000 up to 225,000).

HOPE NOW Planning Loss Mitigation Outreach Events Nationwide in 2015

HOPE NOW announced that from its creation in 2007 until the end of 2014, the mortgage industry has completed more than 23 million non-foreclosure solutions for homeowners, including 7.3 million permanent loan modifications. In January 2015, lenders and servicers offered homeowners another 158,000 non-foreclosure solutions.

Servicers Completed Mortgage Solutions for 1.88 Million Homeowners in 2014, Report Shows

Approximately 1.88 million homeowners nationwide received a mortgage solution in the form of a loan modification, short sale, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, or other workout plan during 2014, according to data released Wednesday by HOPE NOW. The 2014 numbers brought the total number of solutions the industry has offered to homeowners since 2007, when HOPE NOW began tracking the data, up to 23.2 million, representing a combination of both long and short term tools.

Report: 40,000 Homeowners Received Permanent Loan Mods in August

About 40,000 homeowners nationwide received permanent mortgage loan modifications from servicers in August, which includes loans completed through proprietary programs and under the government's Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP), according to data released by the HOPE NOW Alliance on Thursday.

Loan Mods Down, Foreclosure Starts Up in July

The total number of homeowners receiving permanent loan modifications declined in July, as did the number of modifications made under the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP), according to figures released this week by HOPE NOW. Meanwhile, foreclosure starts rose a little more than 1,000 from June to settle at 70,401.
