The Urban Institute takes a closer look at efforts by the GSEs to promote sustainable homeownership and rental opportunities for traditionally underserved communities through the FHFA-mandated Equitable Housing Finance Plans.

Formerly President Obama's top housing policy adviser, Michael Stegman has joined the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) as a fellow for housing policy.

Stegman will briefly rejoin Treasury to end his time with the Administration.

Stegman, who has been with Treasury for four years, will be the main housing adviser for the Obama Administration in his new position with the NEC. He will be replacing Seth Wheeler, who is planning to leave the NEC in June after two years.
