Housing Groups Consider Impact of Immigration Reform

As Congress moves to consider immigration reform, the housing industry is also weighing in on how certain provisions will impact the market. According to the NAHREP, allowing a path for the legalization of undocumented immigrants could mean $500 billion in new real estate transactions. The NAHB also provided input on immigration reform and asked lawmakers to establish a ""fair and workable"" E-Verify system during a congressional round table discussion last week.

NAHREP Announces Recognition for Latino Leaders

NAHREP Announces Two New Appointments

NRBA Director Juan Martinez Named Vice Chairman for NAHREP

Juan Martinez is currently a member of the board of directors for the National REO Brokers Association (NRBA). In addition to his duties and participation with the NRBA, Martinez has also held several leadership roles with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). He was recently appointed to serve as vice chairman for NAHREP and 2012 president-elect.

NAHREP Honors Armando Falcon, Shanna Smith With Founders’ Award

The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) presented the 2011 NAHREP Founders' Awards to Armando Falcon and Shanna Smith for their efforts in advancing homeownership, particularly in the Hispanic community. Falcon served as director of the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's former regulator, from 1999 to 2005. He is now chairman and CEO of Falcon Capital Advisors. Smith is CEO of the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA).
