This week the New Home Sales and Construction Price Indexes is set to release, which measures the number of newly constructed homes with a committed sale during the month. In August, sales of new single-family homes were at a seasonally adjusted rate of 560,000, according to the Census Bureau’s monthly new residential sales report released in late September.
The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of August 2017 was 284,000, representing a supply of 6.1 months at the current sales rate. The Index is scheduled to releases on Wednesday at 10 a.m EST.
