NewOak Capital Appoints Co-Chair of Investment Committee

""NewOak Capital LLC"":http://www.newoakcapital.com recently announced the appointment of Donald H. Layton as senior advisor and co-chairman of its investment committee. Layton will take a lead role in developing the firm's private equity vehicle[IMAGE]for bank recapitalization investments, assisting in the identification and full evaluation of investment opportunities, as well as providing ongoing advice regarding strategic and operational improvements for the banks in the firm's investment portfolio.

Layton has a long track record of experience and leadership in the financial industry. Most recently, he served as chairman of E*TRADE Financial Corporation from November 2007, and additionally as CEO from March 2008, retiring from both positions in December 2009. Previously, he had retired from JP Morgan Chase in 2004 after 29 years at the firm and its predecessors, serving most recently as vice chairman and a member of its three-person Office of the Chairman, as well as its executive committee.

Layton also served as a director of Assured Guaranty Ltd, was a senior advisor to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), and is currently a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's capital markets advisory committee and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology visiting committee for economics.

He received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University.
