The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs held a vote to push Joseph Otting, nominated to be Comptroller of the Currency, and Randal Quarles, nominated to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, to a full Senate confirmation. Both men were approved by the committee.

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Alabama), who was elected chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs earlier this month, has announced the members of the five banking subcommittees for the 114th Congress, according to an announcement from the SBC.

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby, R-Alabama, is expected to become the new chair of the Senate's Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee following Tuesday's election in which Republicans retained control of the House and won enough seats to gain a majority in the Senate as well.
