The LOGS Network, a centrally-managed network of professionals that includes attorneys, trustees, title personnel, and collection staff, who represent the mortgage servicing and consumer credit industries, has announced the hiring of Richards Smith as chief financial officer.

As the new CFO for LOGS Network, Smith will be responsible for management and oversight of all national finance and accounting operations for LOGS affiliates. He will also be responsible for M&A activities for the LOGS Network. He will be working out of the LOGS Network headquarters in Bannockburn, Illinois, a northern Chicago suburb.

"We are pleased to have Rick join the LOGS executive team," LOGS Network CEO Scott Brinkley said. "It is rare to find a CFO with such deep experience in both the banking and legal services industries. This combination will undoubtedly position our organization well for our ongoing pursuit of growth and strategic diversification within the financial services industry.”

Smith's previous experience includes holding senior financial positions in banking, investment management, and real estate investment. His most recent position before joining the LOGS Network was as CFO with legal services provider Pierce & Associates in Chicago.

"The LOGS Network has been a valued business partner to the mortgage industry for over three decades," Smith said. "Being the largest integrated network of legal service providers in the mortgage industry, this organization is well positioned to deliver best-in-class services to the industry. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our owners, business partners and management team to continue this tradition of excellence."

LOGS Network professionals represent the mortgage servicing and consumer credit industries, concentrating on the risk-sensitive areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, title, and REO management.
