Deale began her regulatory career at the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, transitioning to the Office of Thrift Supervision when it was established in 1989. Her most recent position was director of holding companies and international activities at OTS. She transferred to OCC in 2011 and joined the Chief National Bank Examiner's Office as senior operations risk expert, where she worked to integrate OCC and OTS supervision policies.

""Donna brings deep experience supervising federal savings associations to this position,"" said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. ""She will be a valuable member of the OCC leadership team as we complete the integration of overseeing federal savings associations. Her experience is an asset to the agency and to the thrift industry.""

OCC was established in 1863 as an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Its mission is to charter, regulate, and supervise national banks and federal savings associations.
