Fannie Mae Elects Dr. Amy Alving to Board

""Fannie Mae's"":http://www.fanniemae.com/portal/index.html board of directors has elected Amy E. Alving to join, the company announced.

Alving is a seasoned technology leader who worked from December 2007 to September 2013 as SVP and chief technology officer at Science Applications International Corporation, an engineering and tech applications [COLUMN_BREAK]

company. Her prior positions include director of the Special Projects Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, White House fellow, and tenured faculty member at the University of Minnesota.

She also serves as a member of the board of directors of Pall Corporation, where she is a member of the Nominating/Governance Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Defense Science Board and the Council on Foreign Relations.

With Alving's election, Fannie Mae's board says it hopes to widen its scope of expertise and strengthen its governance of the GSE's business transformation as it evolves with the housing market.

""Dr. Alving brings to the Board an excellent combination of executive leadership skills and deep expertise in technology,"" said chairman Philip A. Laskawy. ""Her insight and experience will be invaluable as we continue our efforts to build the housing finance system of the future.""
