According to CoreLogic, the nationwide delinquency rate dropped to 1.1%, the lowest level reported in 23 years, as the unemployment rate remains near an all-time low.

Nationwide, the overall delinquency rate dropped for the 18th consecutive month on an annual basis, as CoreLogic reports that approximately 1.4 million loans nationwide were in some stage of delinquency.

“The share of U.S. borrowers who are six months or more late on their mortgage payments fell to a two-year low in August and was less than one-third of the pandemic high recorded in February 2021,” said Molly Boesel, Principal Economist at CoreLogic.

CoreLogic has released its monthly Loan Performance Insights Report for June 2022, showing that 2.9% of all mortgages in the U.S. were in some stage of delinquency, —30 days or more past due, including those in foreclosure— representing a 1.5 ...
