Wells Looking for 200 Loan Mod Employees

""Wells Fargo Home Mortgage"":https://www.wellsfargo.com/mortgage/ is hiring 200 new staff members in the San Antonio, Texas, area to keep up with an increase in loan modification and refinance volumes.
The _""San Antonio Express-News"":http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/Wells_Fargo_hiring_up_to_200.html_ reports that the positions being filled are in the lender's default and retention servicing units, and will be tasked with workout negotiations and call-center customer service, as well as loan application processing.
The new hires will be based in Westover Hills, Texas, a development in Northwest San Antonio. Helen Bow, AVP of regional banking communications for Wells Fargo, told the _Express-News _that the bank had room to grow at a Wachovia office complex there. Wells Fargo finalized it acquisition of Wachovia and all of its operations at the end of last year.
The default servicing staff expansion by Wells is the latest among large institutions who have stepped up their home retention efforts. JP Morgan Chase said last month, that it also was looking to add about 200 workers to deal with an influx of modification requests from homeowners.
